Overview
The PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner course is designed to provide delegates with a working understanding of the PRINCE2 structured project management method. It will enable them to use the method when working within a PRINCE2 project and to pass the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the characteristics of a project and appreciate why projects need to be managed
  • Describe the benefits of using PRINCE2 as a project management methodology
  • Demonstrate their knowledge understanding of the elements of PRINCE2
  • Assess their own projects in respect to what they have learnt
  • Return to their own projects and apply the concepts and techniques learnt

Who Should Attend?
Some previous experience in a project environment is advisable. This might mean delegates are already managing projects and now require formal PRINCE2 training, or that they are perhaps involved in some form of project support activity.

The Prince2 Foundation & Practitioner exams are included with the delivery of the course. By Completeing both the Fondation & Practitioner exams, you will be a certified Prince2 Practitioner monitored by the APMP Group.

The exams follow the following format:

Foundation Examination

  • Multiple choice format
  • 75 questions per paper
  • 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores
  • 35 marks required (out of 70 available) to pass - 50%
  • Closed book.

Practitioner Examination

  • Objective testing format
  • 9 questions per paper with 12 marks available per question - all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the total number of marks available per paper 108
  • 2.5 hours allowed (no reading time has been added)
  • Open book exam (manual only)
  • 59 marks required (out of 108 available) to pass - 55%.

 

Although experience of project management will be useful, it is not compulsory. Included within the package is an on-line preparation guide which should be completed before attending the course.
