| News | | Blue Chip brings Christmas Cheer to Southampton Charity! |
17/12/2009
Blue Chip staff got into the Christmas spirit this week by donating 100 educational toys and games to the children of Southampton’s ‘521 Youth Project’, a local charity dedicated to improving the social and educational support for young people aged between 5 and 21.
Blue Chip’s Training Manager, Marc Barfoot arrived at the 521’s annual carol concert as a surprise, dressed rather convincingly as Father Christmas. Children aged between 5 and 12 years old queued for an opportunity to meet Santa and get their gift.
IT training provider Blue Chip has supported the local youth charity since 2007 through a number of different means, financing a trip to Tanzania for seven teenagers in 2008, refreshing the computers and laptops in the IT centre and providing gifts at a time of year that is a stretch for all families.
Richard Cook, Blue Chip MD commented “Christmas is a time for children so we are just pleased that we can help in any way possible for such a worthy project and great kids. We are looking forward to 2010 and starting some new initiatives with the Northam 521 project”.
