Great Expectations as Hopkins Leads Ahead of Finale
4th November 2011

Blue Chip will be cheering team rider John ‘Hopper' Hopkins, at Brands Hatch this coming weekend (7-9 Oct), as he goes into the final round of this year’s MCE Insurance British Superbikes (BSB) Championship 8 points clear of nearest rival, Tommy Hill.
Blue Chip Managing Director, Richard Cook, says: “Hopper has had an astounding year finishing on podium after podium, and despite injury during practice at the MotoGP at Brno in August which saw him miss Round 9 at Cadwell Park, he has enough points to secure his place as Championship leader ahead of the pack this coming weekend. The final three races at Brands Hatch are set to be very exciting, as the Title Fighters battle it out once and for all.”
In an interview on the BSB web site, Hopkins said: "I can't wait until next weekend; it can't come soon enough for me. I am definitely stronger now than I was on the Grand Prix circuit back in August as I have done more laps of the track and have more knowledge and data to work with. Although I am going into this round acting like I have no points lead at all; in fact I am going into the round as if I am eight points behind Tommy as it can so easily turn around.”
“I can't say that having the championship lead gives me a mental advantage ahead of the weekend as the points gap is minimal. To be honest the top guys in the title fight are all pretty equal and we all need to win regardless of where we are in the standings if we want to be champion."
Following the finale, Hopkins joins the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team for the third time this season, racing with team mate Alvaro Bautista at Sepang, Malaysia on October 23. Meanwhile, Blue Chip, which provides IT and technical support to both the Samsung Crescent BSB team and Rizla Suzuki team, will be watching the final three BSB races at Brands Hatch with great interest.
