REQUIREMENT: IP TELEPHONY SOLUTION
Colten Care Limited looked to their ICT partner Blue Chip, to provide an IP based telephony solution to enable the company to continue its growth, reduce phone management issues and provide improved communications to remote users.

Colten Care is a provider of new home developments with the highest standards of building and excellence. Colten is based in Lymington and has developments within the New Forest, Hampshire and Dorset areas.
Due to expansion at their head office, the business required additional phones. The existing phone system did not have the capacity to accommodate new handsets; therefore a new phone system was required.
>> Solution
Blue Chip designed and implemented a Cisco IP Telephony solution that provided Colten Developments with an expandable solution for up to ninety-six handsets.
The Cisco system is a cost effective, flexible and highly reliable solution for small to medium businesses. For Colten it provided added functionality to improve business performance, including:
Easy to complete adds, moves and changes without the need for telephony specialists Voicemail to the Outlook Inbox Free calls to remote users via existing internet connections, such as broadband Dial remote users via their normal office extension
In addition, within the existing building there were not enough power or network ports for the expanded workforce. By selecting a Cisco IP Telephony solution, Colten did not need to make any new investment in power and network cabling, as the system supported Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a co-located PC. Therefore, only one Ethernet cable was required per desk to provide both power to the phone and network connectivity to the phone and a PC.

With the Blue Chip solution, Colten Care were able to make immediate and ongoing savings. A new call tariff from BT offered reduced call rates and the costs of running new cables through the building to support the new workers were avoided.
