Over utilised resources and an increasing number of technological failures led Siemens Traffic Controls to look to ICT Reseller Blue Chip Data Systems to provide a managed service of onsite experts to support business-wide IT issues and the needs of all Siemens Traffic Control Users

In the UK Siemens Traffic Controls designs, manufactures, installs and maintains more of the UK's road traffic controls infrastructure than any other company. Siemens wanted to reduce the time and money they spent ensuring that their IT systems were fully functioning and properly managed in order to channel their focus into growing the business. Existing Traffic employees were being over utilised with IT issues, which led to a subsequent failure to meet the Information System demands initiated by senior level management and their user base.

As a result of a long-term business relationship in which Blue Chip demonstrated a clear understanding of Siemens Traffic's business requirements, objectives and ethics, Blue Chip Data Systems were contracted to provide a Managed Service of eight full-time experts, responsible for the management and support of business-wide IT issues. This team is responsible for the continuous monitoring, management and improvement of service delivery activities to provide Siemens Traffic with an ever more efficient and cost-effective IT Support Service.

Through the implementation of an onsite team of experts, Siemens Traffic is assured that corrective action is immediately implemented when necessary, which has proved condusive to an increase in employee productivity and a decrease in downtime. Furthermore, Traffic reported a customer satisfaction level of 93.4% in relation to their IT support and a saving of £540,000 in IT Support Costs over a 3 year period.
